Golden Tips from Akbar is a white tea of young, unopened buds, picked by hand at sunrise in high-altitude Sri Lankan gardens and dried gently in the sun. This 40 g edition comes in a hand-crafted, gold-coloured metal tin with an embossed, domed lid.
The buds give a soft golden liquor, smooth and mellow, with a fragrant floral aroma and none of the grip of a strong black tea. Drink it plain, without milk or sugar, so the natural sweetness comes through.
It suits a quiet morning cup or a tasting with friends, and it is a memorable choice for a corporate or festive gift. The tin can be kept and reused once the tea is gone.
