Siddhalepa Castor Oil (30ml) is a single-ingredient oil pressed from the seeds of the castor plant, Ricinus communis. It comes in a compact 30 ml glass bottle with a screw cap, and is used to moisturise the hair and skin.
Most of the oil is ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that sets castor oil apart from other vegetable oils and gives it its thick consistency. It also holds small amounts of carotenoids, tocopherols, phytosterols and phenolic compounds. Castor oil has long been used in Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha and folk preparations across South Asia. The label is printed in Sinhala, Tamil and English, as it is sold in Sri Lankan homes as well as abroad.

Gemaakt in Sri Lanka door Hettigoda Industries (Pvt) Ltd uit Ratmalana, de fabrikant van de Siddhalepa-groep. Siddhalepa begon in 1934 met Ayur. Dr. Hendrick De Silva Hettigoda's kruidenemulsie.
