About this experience
After dark in the forests around Kitulgala, you join an expert naturalist guide on a three-hour private night hike in search of one of Sri Lanka's most elusive residents — the slender loris. Slow-moving and wide-eyed, these nocturnal primates cling to branches in the tropical woodland, and your guide's trained eye makes all the difference in spotting them. Entrance fees are covered, and your naturalist provides running commentary on loris behaviour, diet, and habitat throughout the walk. Minimum age for participants is five years.
This is a private activity, so the pace and focus stay entirely with your group. Note that hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, so you'll need to make your own way to the meeting point in Kitulgala. Gratuities and personal expenses are also not covered. Ideal for families and wildlife enthusiasts who want a quiet, unhurried encounter with Sri Lanka's nocturnal forest life.
