A flat, cut-to-shape miniature of the Gara Raksha mask, made to hold a note or a postcard on the fridge. The outline follows the mask itself: three cobras rising from the head, a green demon face with white tusks and a wide red mouth, and two large round ear discs painted as yellow flowers.
Details. The design covers the whole front in yellow, green, grey, orange and red with black outlines, and the edges are finished in solid yellow. A round black magnet is fixed to the centre of the back. It measures about 5 cm tall and 8 cm wide.
The mask behind it. The Gara demon belongs to the ritual traditions of Sri Lanka's southern coast, where it is associated with the misfortune that masked ceremonies set out to drive away.
