About this experience
Board your air-conditioned vehicle in Negombo for a private, 12-hour city tour of Kandy, guided by an English-speaking chauffeur. Your first stop is the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya — home to more than 4,000 species of ornamental, decorative, and medicinal plants, and the largest orchid collection in Asia. After the gardens, head into Kandy town for lunch at a restaurant of your choice before exploring workshops dedicated to gem crafting and woodcarving.
The centrepiece of the afternoon is the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating to the 16th century. Walk through painted halls decorated in red, cream, and black, admire golden statues, and take in the intricately carved pillars that line this sacred site. Hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, and all taxes are included; entrance fees and meals are at your own expense.

Best place to have a meal with a view
We often have lunch at the Kandy City Cener because there is a good choice of food and the place is clean & efficient. We have not explored the stores for shopping, but it is nice there is quite a variety.
