About this experience
Lace up your boots and spend nine hours exploring the highlands of Riverston, one of Sri Lanka's most rewarding hiking destinations. Starting from Matale, you make your way into the misty peaks where the trail leads to a dramatic 300-metre drop at the summit. From the edge, you look out over the Thelgamuwa Valley's terraced fields and the full sweep of the Knuckles mountain range — the kind of view that earns its approach.
This is a private hike, guided in English throughout, with local transport provided within Riverston. Lunch and refreshments are included, so you stay fuelled on the trail. Note that hotel pickup and transport from Matale to Riverston are not included. Minimum age for participants is 12 years. Lakpura arranges the guide, in-area transport, and food — you simply arrive ready to walk.
