Birdwatching Forest Walk in Kitulgala

Lace up your boots and head into the Makandawa Forest Reserve with an experienced naturalist by your side. Over five hours, you trek through dense rainforest, pause at clear streams and natural pools, and scan the canopy for rare and endemic birds. Your guide reads the forest like a map — pointing out species you'd easily walk past alone. Groups of eight or more are accompanied by two naturalists, keeping the experience attentive and personal. Refreshments and energy slabs are included to keep you going on the trail.

This is a private tour, so the pace and focus are yours to set. Transport to the Kitulgala Forest Reserve trailhead is not included, so arrange your own way there. Additional food, drinks, and personal expenses are covered by you. Minimum age for the walk is eight years old.
