Your Lakpura chauffeur guide collects you from your Kandy hotel and heads east through lush highland scenery. En route, stop at Sorabora Wewa and Ulhitiya Wewa — two ancient reservoirs that still supply water to surrounding communities — before reaching the historic town of Mahiyangana to tour its revered Buddhist temple.
From Mahiyangana, the road pushes deeper into the wilderness to Dambana, home of the Veddahs — Sri Lanka's indigenous community, who continue to live by farming and traditional custom. Your English-speaking guide introduces you to the village, offering real context on their way of life. The full-day tour runs approximately 12 hours, covers transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, bottled water per person, and door-to-door pickup and drop-off. Minimum age is 7.
