Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake is about 32 km away by road, 27 km as the crow flies, and the drive usually takes 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. The hotel offers standard and deluxe rooms as well as spacious colonial-style suites, all furnished with a hint of traditional ambience. The suites have a separate living room and a private dining room, a four-poster bed, a large en-suite bathroom and comfortable sofas.
The Harbour Room restaurant looks out over the bustle of the Colombo harbour, the Sri Lankan restaurant serves local flavours, and the Tiffin Hut offers pastries and other treats to take away. For drinks there is the Tap Bar, and the Blue Leopard Night Club for dancing.
For meetings and events there are the Kashyapa Room, Takshila Hall and the Satin Room for smaller functions, and the Lotus and Rainbow ballrooms for weddings, corporate events and parties. Other facilities include a spa, laundry service, left-luggage service, a doctor on call and foreign currency exchange.
