This is the second book by Nick, the speaker born without arms or legs, published here in Sinhala. His first book, Seema Nathi Jiwithe, set out how he came to master his own life and found readers around the world; this one continues the same work. Nick travels widely, lecturing on optimistic attitudes and on the path to overcoming one's circumstances, and the book draws on a number of his own experiences rather than on theory alone.
The argument running through it is a simple one, stated plainly: that inability can be turned into ability, incompleteness into completeness, and defeat into victory. Nick treats these not as consolations but as a method, and the chapters are given over to showing how he has applied it in his own life and how a reader might apply it to theirs. Alongside the practical encouragement, the book carries the love and faith that he shares in his public speaking.
The Sinhala text is by Saman Athaudahetti, published by M. D. Gunasena & Co. (Pvt) Ltd of Colombo, a house with a long record of publishing in Sinhala and English. The entire book is in Sinhala — there is no English text in it, so it will suit readers comfortable in the language, Sri Lankan families abroad who want the original rather than an English edition, and anyone keeping a Sinhala-language shelf overseas.
It sits in the motivational and self-improvement end of the list, and is frequently read by people who came to Nick first through his talks or through his earlier book, and who want the rest of what he has to say in their own language.
