Lauhasawaya (also spelt Lauhasava; ලෞහාසවය in Sinhala) is an asawaya, a traditional Ayurvedic fermented herbal liquid preparation, made in Sri Lanka by Gampaha Wickramarachchi, a fourth-generation family firm of Siddhayurveda physicians at Yakkala in the Gampaha District.
The name comes from lauha, the Sanskrit word for iron. Like every asawaya, it is made by slow fermentation in the traditional way, so it contains a small amount of naturally formed alcohol. The full formula is printed on the label.
