About this experience
Step into a safari jeep at your Bentota hotel and head south to Bundala National Park, a protected Ramsar Wetland on Sri Lanka's southern coast. Over three hours inside the park, your English-speaking chauffeur guide tracks flocks of migratory water birds — flamingos, painted storks, pelicans, and more — that arrive from as far as Siberia each winter. A bottle of water is provided for the ride, and the private jeep means the pace is yours alone.
The full day runs eight hours including hotel pickup and drop-off, leaving you time to absorb the lagoons and scrubland at a relaxed tempo. Children aged five and above are welcome. Note that national park entrance tickets, meals, and gratuities are arranged separately on the day.
