Jaffna Railway Station

  

Jaffna Railway Station, located in the heart of Jaffna city, is a significant transportation hub in northern Sri Lanka. Originally opened in 1902, the station was part of the Northern Line connecting Colombo to the northern peninsula. During the civil war, the station suffered extensive damage and ceased operations in 1990. After the end of the conflict, reconstruction efforts led to the station's reopening on 13 October 2014. Today, Jaffna Railway Station serves as a key stop for trains like the Yal Devi, providing vital connectivity between Jaffna and Colombo.
