Step into a private, air-conditioned vehicle and spend six hours exploring two of Sri Lanka's most significant historical sites. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you from your hotel in Dambulla and drives you to Sigiriya Rock Fortress — the fifth-century palace built by King Kasyapa atop a sheer granite column. Climb past the famous frescoes, walk the mirror-wall galleries, and take in the precision of an ancient royal citadel. Two 500 ml water bottles per person keep you refreshed on the ascent.
The tour continues to the Dambulla Cave Temple, a complex of five painted caverns sheltering over 150 Buddha statues and centuries of intricate murals. Your guide walks you through the symbolism and history of both sites before returning you to your hotel. Entrance tickets for Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple are not included and are payable on arrival. This is a private tour, so the pace and attention are entirely yours. Minimum age is 12.
