Sevena Villa is a private six-bedroom villa tucked into three-quarters of an acre of greenery in Akurugodawatte, on the edge of Weligama. It is let as a whole, sleeping up to fourteen guests, which makes it a natural fit for families and groups of friends. Its own architecture mixes traditional Sri Lankan touches, timber ceilings and antique furniture with bright, modern rooms, and the garden is busy with peacocks, monkeys, mongoose and birdlife.
The master suite has a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and a private balcony over the garden and pool. Four further guest rooms each have a queen-size bed, and a family room has custom-built bunk beds for children. Every bedroom is air-conditioned, with ceiling fans, mosquito screens and wardrobe space; there are four bathrooms in all.
Outside there is a private swimming pool in landscaped gardens, a lawn big enough for a game of cricket, a barbecue area and a tree-shaded yoga pavilion equipped with mats. Inside are a TV lounge, board games, a large dining room and a fully fitted kitchen. A resident team of a trained chef, housekeeper, steward, gardener and night security looks after guests. The chef cooks Sri Lankan and international dishes to order, from hopper nights to barbecues and seafood platters. Wi-Fi and on-site parking are included, and the lane takes cars, vans and 16-seater buses.
Yoga and meditation sessions, massages, airport transfers and day trips such as whale watching and surfing can be arranged on request.
The villa is about 1.4 km from Weligama Beach and its surf breaks, with Mirissa and the rest of the south coast a short drive away.
Bookable activities, tours, and tickets within a 25 km radius.
