Marina Beach stands on the shore of Pasikuda Bay on Sri Lanka's east coast, with direct access to the soft sand and calm, shallow water of the bay and nearby cafes within a short walk. Kalkudah Railway Station is 3.3 km away and Batticaloa about 19 km down the coast.
Pasikuda is about 265 km by road from Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake, a drive of 5 to 6 hours across the island depending on traffic and the weather; in a straight line the airport is 203 km away. Book the Colombo (CMB) Airport transfer to Marina Beach.
Rooms are furnished simply for comfort, each with soft bedding, a private bathroom and air-conditioning, and a balcony or terrace looking out over the ocean, the garden or the pool.
There is an outdoor swimming pool, an on-site restaurant serving Sri Lankan cuisine alongside international favourites, complimentary Wi-Fi in the public areas and secure on-site parking for guests.
The shallow water of the bay suits snorkelling over the coral reefs, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, and boat rides run along the bay. Further afield you can make a short trip to explore the Batticaloa Lagoon, or cycle the quiet coastal paths to the villages nearby.
