Board a shared safari jeep — a maximum of six passengers — and head into Yala National Park, Sri Lanka's second-largest wildlife reserve. Your experienced driver doubles as your tracker, guiding you through scrub forest and open plains where Sri Lankan leopards move between the trees and wild elephants graze near the waterways. Raise your binoculars to scan the reservoir edges for the hundreds of aquatic birds that nest across the park. A 1-litre bottle of water is provided per person; the 4-hour circuit keeps the pace manageable for travellers aged five and above.
Lakpura arranges pick-up and drop-off directly from Hambantota Port or any hotel in the area, so there's no need to organise separate transport. Note that park entrance tickets, food, additional drinks, and gratuities are not included in the tour price and should be budgeted for separately.
