About this experience
Board a shared boat off Alankuda Beach and head into the waters where the continental shelf draws close to the Kalpitiya coastline — meaning you reach prime whale territory without a long open-sea crossing. A marine mammal naturalist joins every trip, pointing out the different whale species that regularly visit this stretch of the Indian Ocean and giving context to every sighting. All safety equipment is provided, and the tour runs for four hours. Minimum age is five years.
