A colouring book for young children that gives them something to follow rather than a blank outline. Each picture comes with a sticker guide which is pasted onto the page, showing the colours to use. The child looks at the guide, matches the colours and fills in the drawing.
Instructions are set out at the back, and the book carries a range of pictures to work through. The approach suits children who are still building confidence with crayons and pencils — the sticker guide removes the question of what colour goes where, leaving the child to concentrate on the colouring itself. It is the kind of activity book that supports creativity, concentration and fine motor control at an age when all three are being learned together.
Published in English by M. D. Gunasena & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, a Colombo publishing house with a long association with school and children's books in Sri Lanka. Suitable for home or classroom use with pre-school and early primary children, and straightforward enough for a child to use with little adult help once the first page has been explained.
