This book is the natural outcome of a journey that has taken the editorial team through Mannar and Batticaloa, in pursuit of the objective to create a platform for academic collaboration between North and South of Sri Lanka. As the heart of the Northern Province, any search for heritage assets must begin with Jaffna. Yet we had hesitated for several years, wondering if it was possible to capture the spirit of Jaffna's heritage in a single book.
