Tickets are now available only as part of a guided experience and can no longer be purchased separately.

Ramba Viharaya lies roughly twenty minutes from Ambalantota, in the southern region of Sri Lanka. Regarded as one of the most significant excavation sites in the area, this ancient monastic complex spreads across 250 acres and is considered the largest monastery in the south. Though it receives relatively few visitors, the site carries considerable historical weight, having played a notable role during the 11th century AD when the ancient capital of Anuradhapura was invaded by the Chola Empire from India.

The archaeological area surrounding Ramba Viharaya contains the remnants of what was once a thriving monastic community. Visitors can observe foundation walls, upright stone pillars, the ruins of a white marble statue, carved terracotta plates, and various artefacts that reflect the site's rich past. The temple itself remains an active place of worship, offering a contemplative atmosphere alongside its historical interest.

Entrance tickets are arranged through Lakpura, and a guided service is included with each booking. Collecting a physical ticket in advance allows visitors to proceed directly into the sacred grounds without delays at the entrance.
