About this experience
Step into a traditional workshop in Kandy — Sri Lanka's historic City of Kings — and spend an hour learning the craft that local artisans have practised for generations. Watch a skilled woodcarver demonstrate their techniques up close, then pick up a brush and paint a freshly carved piece to take home as your own handmade souvenir. The session is private, runs in English, and welcomes children from age five, making it a hands-on activity the whole family can enjoy together.
Bookings are flexible — join anytime between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm to fit around your Kandy itinerary. The workshop fee covers the carving demonstration, painting lessons, and your finished keepsake. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Lakpura arranges the session directly with the artisan, so your group gets undivided attention throughout the full hour.
