About this experience
Your day begins with a hotel pick-up in Dambulla, then it's a comfortable ride in an air-conditioned vehicle to Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's largest and oldest national park. Board your private jeep with an English-speaking tracker and guide, and spend the safari scanning the dense forest, natural lakes (known as villus), and open scrubland for the Sri Lankan Leopard, sloth bear, spotted deer, and a wealth of endemic birdlife. A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park itself, with nothing but wilderness around you.
The full experience runs for seven hours, including transport from and back to your Dambulla hotel. Park entrance tickets are included when you select the "Transport With Tickets" option at booking. Guests must be at least five years old. Food and drinks beyond the picnic lunch, and gratuities, are not included. Lakpura organises this as a private tour, so the jeep is yours alone.
