About this experience
Clip into your harness, step back over the edge, and abseil 80 feet down Warakara Waterfall — a live cascade on the border of Ella town. A twenty-minute trek from the main road brings you to the base of the falls, where your guide runs a comprehensive safety briefing before you touch the rope. Harnesses, helmets, descending devices, and fully adjustable life jackets are all provided. Transfer from Ella to the activity location is included. The session runs for three hours and is operated as a private activity; minimum age is 13.
You control your own descent, managing the rope hand-over-hand while the water pushes against you. At the top sits a natural pool — swim and take in the view once you've made it down. Your guides are trained in CPR, lifesaving, and rope access techniques, so the risk is managed without removing the challenge. Food, beverages, gratuities, and hotel pick-up are not included, so bring water and snacks. Book through Lakpura and transport, safety kit, and a qualified guide are handled from the moment you leave Ella.
