About this experience
Step into a jeep and head deep into Udawalawe National Park on this private, full-day excursion from Talpe. Your English-speaking safari driver doubles as your tracker, guiding you across the park's open plains and grasslands in search of Sri Lanka's iconic wild elephants. Watch herds gather near the reservoir, keep your binoculars trained for endemic and migratory birds, and stay alert for the butterflies that flock to this protected reserve. Chilled bottled mineral water is on board, and air-conditioned transport covers the journey to and from your hotel.
The jeep safari runs for three hours inside the park, giving you a focused, unhurried look at the wildlife without the crowds of a group tour. Note that park entrance tickets are not included and should be budgeted for separately, along with meals and gratuities. Minimum age is five years.
