About this experience
Your English-speaking chauffeur picks you up from your Koggala hotel and drives you to Udawalawe National Park — one of Sri Lanka's best destinations for elephant sightings. The full day out runs seven hours in total, with a dedicated three-hour jeep safari inside the park. Scan the open plains and grasslands for herds of wild elephants, then turn your binoculars to the skies for endemic and migratory birds. Butterflies are a constant presence along the tracks. A litre of bottled mineral water per person is provided for the ride.
This is a private tour, so the jeep and chauffeur are yours alone — no shared groups or set departure times to work around. Transport between Koggala and the park is in an air-conditioned vehicle, keeping the long drive comfortable. Note that national park entrance tickets are not included and are paid separately on arrival. Minimum age for the tour is five years.
