About this experience
Meet your experienced hiking guide in Ella town at 7 am for a quick route briefing before setting off up Little Adam's Peak. At 1,141 metres above sea level, this peak earns its name from its striking resemblance to the famous Adam's Peak. The morning timing works in your favour — panoramic views from the summit are at their clearest early in the day. The full ascent and descent takes around two hours, after which you can refuel at the trailhead stalls or pick up a packed breakfast before continuing.
From the base, you hike cross-country through woodland to the Nine Arches Bridge — a British-era viaduct built entirely from stone, brick, and cement, spanning over 300 feet at roughly 100 feet high. Walk the railtrack across it as your guide shares its history, then continue along the line to Demodara Railway Station. This colonial-era station features a rare spiral loop where the track doubles back through a tunnel beneath the platform, allowing trains to pass the same point twice. The private tour wraps up here at approximately 5 pm, with village lunch and refreshments included.
