About this experience
Your private 12-hour tour begins with a hotel pickup in Negombo, then heads east to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient royal citadel rising dramatically from the central plains. Accompanied by your English-speaking chauffeur guide, you ascend the rock, take in its famous frescoes and mirror wall, and survey the surrounding gardens and moat below. An air-conditioned vehicle keeps the journey comfortable in both directions, and a complimentary water bottle is provided per person.
After the fortress, the tour continues into a nearby Sigiriya village, where you walk through everyday rural life, observe traditional customs, and get a grounded sense of how local communities live beyond the tourist trail. Note that entrance tickets, meals, and drinks are not included, so carry some local currency for the sites. Minimum age for this tour is 12 years. Your driver returns you to your Negombo hotel by the end of the day.
