About this experience
Step into your air-conditioned vehicle for a private, 12-hour day trip from Colombo to one of Sri Lanka's most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you from your hotel and covers the journey to Sigiriya, where you climb the ancient rock fortress — a 5th-century royal citadel rising 200 metres above the surrounding plains — and take in the frescoes, mirror wall, and sweeping views at the summit.
After the rock, the tour continues into Sigiriya Village, where you walk through a working rural community and sit down to a traditional Sri Lankan lunch included in your booking. A water bottle per person is provided throughout the day. Food and drinks beyond what is specified, and gratuities, are at your own expense. Minimum age for this tour is 12 years.
