Siddhalepa Ayur Elixir Kanakasawaya (220ml) is a classical Ayurvedic preparation, an asava (a liquid herbal elixir taken by mouth), made with Solanum xanthocarpum, Mesua ferrea, Premna herbacea, Adhatoda vasica and Glycyrrhiza glabra. Siddhalepa sells this formula as Kanaksawaya in its Ayur Elixirs range, and it is taken before meals as the maker directs below.
An asava is made by slowly fermenting herbal juices or infusions, a method described in the classical Ayurvedic texts and still widely used in Sri Lanka. Ayur is the everyday Siddhalepa range, and its elixirs come in 220ml bottles.
