Travel from Colombo to Kandy on a shared, scheduled shuttle service. Seats are sold per guest, from one to eight, so you book only the places you need and share the vehicle with other travellers on the same departure. The shuttle runs on fixed daily departures at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
The journey covers approximately 146 KM and takes around 3.4 hours depending on traffic conditions. Transport is in a comfortable, air-conditioned standard vehicle with an English-speaking driver. Passengers may request to get off at any point along the route before the final destination; the fare remains unchanged.

This is a straightforward way to cover one of the more travelled road links in Sri Lanka, with a set route, a set schedule and a per-seat booking. The opposite direction, from Kandy to Colombo, is sold as a separate service.
