About this experience
Set out from Mahiyanganaya on this private, 9-hour tour that combines a village immersion with a rewarding waterfall hike. Arrive at Rathna Ella village, where your guide leads you into the heart of rural Sri Lankan life — receive a traditional welcome drink at the village house "Gama Gedara", sit down to a home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch, and leave with a handcrafted gift from the local pottery-making community.
After lunch, lace up for the 2-kilometre hike from Rathna Ella village through the surrounding landscape to Kaluwa Wetuna Ella waterfall. Two organic energy drinks keep you fuelled along the trail. Minimum age is 5, and an experienced English-speaking guide accompanies you throughout. All taxes and service charges are included; gratuities are at your discretion.
