Pasyale Iramusu Cordial is a dark herbal drink concentrate from Pasyale Ayurveda Osu (Pvt) Ltd, an Ayurvedic producer at Kadawatha in the Gampaha District of Sri Lanka. Its label names it Iramusu Cordial (Sarsaparilla) and Herbal Drink in English, and iramusu panaya, iramusu drink, in Sinhala.
Iramusu is the Sinhala name for Hemidesmus indicus, a short creeper native to Sri Lanka that is known in English as Indian sarsaparilla. Its roots are woody and aromatic, and the label pictures them as chopped, reddish-brown pieces beside the green leaves of the plant. The cordial itself is a deep brown liquid, bottled in glass under a green screw cap.
The cordial is offered in 375ml, 750ml and 4500ml bottles. Its maker was established in 1960 by Dr. Dharmadasa Raddalgoda and produces Ayurvedic and herbal products for sale in Sri Lanka and abroad. Pasyale Iramusu Cordial is offered as a traditional preparation, not as a medicine.
