About this experience
Lace up your boots and join a group night hike up Adam's Peak — the sacred 2,243-metre summit revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians alike. You set off in darkness, climbing the ancient stone steps that cut through the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, arriving at the summit to catch the famous triangular shadow cast by the peak at sunrise. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide leads the way throughout the 14-hour tour, and three 300 ml bottles of mineral water per person keep you going on the ascent.
Minimum age for the hike is 12 years. Note that hotel pick-up and drop-off, meals, and personal expenses are not included, so arrange your own transport to the trailhead and carry snacks for the climb. This is a shared group activity — a challenging but rewarding trek that Lakpura organises through one of Sri Lanka's most dramatic highland landscapes.
