About this experience
Board your private, air-conditioned vehicle in Kandy and head north to Minneriya National Park — a protected reserve renowned for its large herds of wild elephants that gather around the ancient reservoir at its heart. Your Lakpura-organised eight-hour excursion includes a dedicated jeep safari inside the park, where spotted deer, water buffalo, and a rich variety of birdlife share the scrub and grasslands with the elephants. Park entrance tickets and a bottle of water per person are included, and your driver collects and drops you off directly at your Kandy hotel.
The tour runs as a fully private experience, so you set the pace without sharing the jeep with strangers. Children aged seven and above are welcome. Meals and personal expenses are not included, so carry local rupees for any refreshments you pick up along the way.

Horrible, trafic jams, exhaust fumes, vehicles not adapted, elephants harassed
Horrible! We were in jeeps so couldn’t see if we were sat - behind driver. If we stood the road was so rough we were thrown around and ended up black and blue. Too old for that in our 70’s!
Far too many jeeps allowed in.…
