About this experience
Board your private boat and glide across the calm lagoon waters of Alankuda, a wetland that borders Wilpattu National Park. Over two and a half hours, your expert naturalist guide points out the tangled root systems of the mangrove ecosystem, identifies wading birds and kingfishers, and hands you binoculars whenever something worth a closer look appears. In the distance, sand dunes and salt pans mark the edge of the landscape — a quietly dramatic backdrop to a serene morning on the water.
This is a private tour, so the pace is yours. The minimum age is five, making it a practical choice for families. Picnic lunch and snacks are included where applicable, so you arrive back at the shore well fed. Note that general food and drinks beyond what is provided, as well as any entry tickets, are not covered.
