About this experience
Board your private boat and glide across the calm lagoon waters of Alankuda, a wetland that borders Wilpattu National Park and stretches towards the ocean. Over two and a half hours, your expert guide leads you through dense mangroves, sea grass beds, and salt marshlands, handing you binoculars whenever a wading bird or kingfisher is worth a closer look. Sand dunes and salt pans mark the horizon — a quietly dramatic backdrop to a serene morning on the water. As you pass through small fishing villages, you'll also catch glimpses of shrimp farms and local fishermen working the lagoon.
