The Mabroc 1001 Nights Ali Baba — sold also under the name Night of 1000 Stars — is one of Mabroc's signature blends and part of their Legends Range. It combines Ceylon black tea and green tea in a single blend, then adds rose blossoms and strawberry, a pairing that Mabroc count among the defining achievements of their decades in tea. The result is a cup that is floral and gently fruity without either note overwhelming the other.
Mabroc Teas, founded in 1988 and part of the Hayleys PLC plantation group, built its reputation as a pioneer in combining flower petals and fruit with Ceylon tea. The 1001 Nights blend is among the most enduring expressions of that approach. The black and green tea bases come from Sri Lanka's celebrated tea gardens, and the rose blossoms and strawberry are sourced and blended at Mabroc's facility in Kandy. The company exports Ceylon tea to over fifty countries, and its gardens carry Rainforest Alliance certification while its operations conform to ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 standards.
The tea comes in bags — twenty-five per pack at fifty grams, or one hundred bags in the two-hundred-gram pack — making it straightforward to brew without any loose-leaf equipment. Each bag holds two grams of the blend, which is enough for a standard cup. The packaging carries both the 1001 Nights Ali Baba name and the Night of 1000 Stars designation, and both refer to the same blend inside.
As a gift or for personal use, the Ali Baba packs travel well and keep their character in transit. The illustrated packaging has its own visual character — bold enough to sit well on a shelf or inside a gift box. For anyone already familiar with single-origin Ceylon teas, this blend offers a different kind of pleasure: the brightness of a green tea softened by the depth of black, with rose and strawberry woven through both.
