Link Neelyadi Oil — known in Sinhala as නීලඩි තෙලය and in Tamil as நீலியாதி தைலம் — is a traditional Sri Lankan Ayurvedic herbal oil produced by Link Natural Products (Pvt.) Ltd, a company established in 1982 and based in Colombo. The formulation belongs to a distinct Sri Lankan Ayurvedic lineage, not to be confused with Indian classical preparations of a similar name, and its prescriptions are drawn from recognised Sri Lankan Ayurvedic texts, most notably the Ayurveda Aushada Sangrahaya.
The oil takes its name from its principal botanical ingredient, Indigofera tinctoria — known locally as Nil avariya — the indigo plant that gives the formulation its identity. The base is coconut oil, a traditional carrier widely used in Sri Lankan Ayurvedic preparations. Among the other ingredients documented in verified Sri Lankan sources for this class of formulation are Piper longum, Acronychia pedunculata, Nigella sativa, and Syzygium aromaticum, reflecting the complexity of a multi-herb preparation that draws on a pharmacopoeial tradition codified over centuries. The formulation is also produced by the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation, a government body, which affirms its standing within Sri Lanka's official Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia.
This is an oil for topical application to the hair and scalp, intended for external use only. It is registered under the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Act and carries the corresponding regulatory registration number on its label. Link Natural Products holds registration with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and manufactures a range of over two hundred herbal and Ayurvedic products from its production facility at Kapugoda.
The oil comes in an amber glass bottle with a black screw cap and a tamper-evident seal that must be broken before the bottle is opened.
