Daruparpatadee Kwatha is a classical Ayurvedic liquid preparation made by Link Natural, one of Sri Lanka's established herbal and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The word Kwatha denotes a specific form of herbal decoction — one of the five foundational liquid preparations in Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia — produced by simmering coarsely prepared medicinal herbs in water until the volume reduces and the water-soluble constituents are drawn into a concentrated liquid. The result is a ready-to-use preparation with a character quite different from capsules or powders: the herbs have already undergone the preparatory work, and the decoction is taken orally as a liquid.
The formula takes its name from its principal herbs, with 'Daruparpatadee' following the classical Ayurvedic naming convention in which the key ingredient or ingredients lead the name and the suffix '-adi' (rendered here as '-dee') signals that these are the foremost among a wider group of constituents. The lead herb Daru Haridra is associated with the bright yellow colouration characteristic of berberine-rich plant material, and has a long presence in Ayurvedic compound formulas of this type. The full composition of this particular multi-herb formulation is best confirmed by consulting the product leaflet or the manufacturer directly.
Link Natural was established in 1982 and carries a range of more than two hundred herbal and Ayurvedic products. Daruparpatadee Kwatha is registered with Sri Lanka's Ayurveda Medicines Board, which licenses and regulates Ayurvedic preparations sold in the country, and the product carries a SLAMB registration number on its label. This places it within the formal framework of licensed Ayurvedic medicine in Sri Lanka rather than the general supplements market.
The preparation comes in an amber glass bottle with a green screw cap, a format suited to protecting a liquid decoction from light. Two pack sizes are available: 500 ml and 4.5 litres, making it practical for both household use and extended courses. As with Kwatha formulations in the classical Ayurvedic tradition, this preparation is intended for oral consumption and is best taken under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can advise on dosage according to individual constitution and circumstance. Storage in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight is recommended.
