Lifetone Moringa Leaf Tea is a single-ingredient herbal infusion made from dried Moringa leaves powder, produced in Kilinochchi in the north of Sri Lanka by Possible Green (Pvt) Ltd. Each box contains 20 sachets, and the tea carries the Tamil name முருங்கைமிலைத் தேயிலை on the pack alongside the Lifetone tagline 'The Morning Booster'. The manufacturer produces this and other herbal teas using naturally grown plant resources, working from a facility certified to ISO 22000:2005 by the accreditation body UAF.
Moringa — known in Sri Lanka and across South Asia as the drumstick tree — has long been cultivated across the tropics and subtropics of Asia and Africa. The leaves of the drumstick tree are the sole ingredient here, dried and formed into a fine powder that is measured into individual sachets. The nutritional components declared on the packaging include protein, dietary fibre, carbohydrates, the minerals potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper, and vitamins A, B and C.
Brewing is straightforward. Place one sachet in a cup, pour in hot water, and leave it to steep for around 30 to 45 seconds. A firm squeeze of the sachet draws out the full depth of the infusion. The tea can be taken plain or with a splash of milk and a touch of honey while still hot. Once the pack is open, the remaining sachets should be kept in an airtight container.
