About this experience
Board a small boat on Tissa Lake with a local fisherman and spend three hours freshwater fishing in one of Sri Lanka's most scenic reservoirs. Your guide hands you a traditional fishing pole — the same kind locals have used for generations — and shows you how to work it. The lake stretches out around you, backed by the treeline of Yala's borderlands, and a complimentary tea, coffee, or beer keeps things relaxed between catches. This is a private activity, so it's just your group on the water.
Transport to and from your hotel is not included, so arrange your own way to the lake before the session. Participants must be aged 15 or over. Gratuities for your fisherman guide are optional but appreciated.
