About this experience
Board your private boat and head out across the calm waters of Kalpitiya Lagoon, which borders Wilpattu National Park along Sri Lanka's northwest coast. Over four hours, you glide past salt pans and distant sand dunes, with two of those hours dedicated to bird watching and exploring the lagoon's mangrove ecosystem — binoculars provided, expert naturalist on board.
Your naturalist guides you through the birdlife hidden among the mangroves, pointing out species that are easy to miss without a trained eye. A picnic breakfast or lunch and water are included where applicable, so you can sit back and take in the scenery. Minimum age for this tour is five years. Lakpura operates this as a fully private activity, conducted in English.
