Kayaking at Rathgama Lake from Hikkaduwa

Paddle across the calm waters of Rathgama Lake on a private two-hour kayaking session departing from Hikkaduwa. Your experienced local instructor runs a 15-minute introductory lesson before you set off in a tandem sit-on-top kayak, fully equipped with paddles and an adjustable life jacket. As you glide through the lake, scan the shoreline for exotic birdlife, take in the greenery framing the water, and catch a glimpse of Dodanduwa Harbour in the distance. Early mornings and late afternoons — just before sunset — are the finest times to be on the water.

All kayaking gear, a waterproof phone case and bag, welcome drink, and a snack spread of biscuits, banana, king coconut, and black tea with jaggery are included. Changing rooms, parking, and free Wi-Fi are available at the venue. Participants must be aged 13 or over. Note that hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included; arrange your own transfer to the lake.
