About this experience
Board a private 4WD jeep and head into Kaudulla National Park on a three-hour safari led by an experienced driver-tracker. The park sits within the Kaudulla–Minneriya jungle corridor in Sri Lanka's north-central region, covering 6,900 hectares of dry evergreen forest, open grasslands, and abandoned cultivation land. The Kaudulla Tank — an ancient reservoir dating to King Mahasena's reign in the 3rd century AD — draws herds of elephants, especially in September as the dry season peaks. Along the way, watch for some of the park's 160-plus bird species and 24 recorded mammals.
Your jeep carries a maximum of six passengers, and a complimentary water bottle is provided per person. Free pickup and drop-off is included for any location within 5 km of the park gate. Note that park entrance fees are paid separately in cash on arrival, and hotel transfers beyond the 5 km radius carry an additional charge.
