About this experience
Take your seat for the Kumbal Perahera, the sixth phase of Kandy's legendary Esala Perahera, held on the night of 27 August 2026. From your private reserved seat, watch the Devale Perahera assemble before the Temple of the Tooth as Basnayake Nilames escort the sacred ransivige through the streets. Drummers beat their rhythm, dancers move in torchlight, and the crack of cannonballs marks each stage of the procession — the start of the Devale Perahera, the advance of the Dalada Maligawa Perahera, and its ceremonial close.
The procession runs for approximately 90 minutes. Your admission fee and private seat are included, so you simply arrive, settle in, and watch one of Asia's most visually striking religious festivals unfold in front of you. Lakpura arranges the ticketing; minimum age for this event is 12 years.
