About this experience
On the evening of 20 August 2026, take your reserved seat and watch the 3rd Kumbal Perahera wind through the streets of Kandy. Elaborately decorated elephants lead the procession, flanked by traditional Kandyan dancers, drummers, and torchbearers performing centuries-old rituals in honour of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. The event runs for approximately two hours and is open to participants aged 12 and above.
Your booking with Lakpura includes the entry fee and a private seat, so you have a clear, unobstructed view of the procession without jostling for position. Food, drink, and a personal guide are not included, so plan ahead and arrive ready to witness one of Sri Lanka's most important religious and cultural celebrations as it builds toward the grander Randoli Perahera stages ahead.
