Impra Ceylon Green Tea is a loose small leaf green tea from Sri Lanka, packed as 200g net in a tall round metal caddy. Through the clear lid you can see the tea itself, tightly rolled leaves in muted shades of green.
The caddy tells a short story of green tea in Sri Lanka: its manufacture on the island saw a revival towards the latter part of the 20th century. Impra puts the fresh green appearance of the tea down to the use of carefully chosen leaves and strict quality standards in manufacture, and describes the cup as strong tasting, with a distinctive Ceylon fragrance.
The caddy is finished in green and gold, with the red Impra panel on the front, a small leaf tea badge and the Ceylon Tea lion logo. The clear plastic lid is held down by a gold-coloured wire clip clasp.
Impra is the flagship brand of Imperial Tea Exports, a Sri Lankan tea company founded in 1994. As well as a single 200g caddy, this tea is offered here in multipacks, including a pack of 3 caddies, a pack of 6 and a pack of 3 in the 250g size.
