Geriforte is a long-established Ayurvedic tablet from Himalaya, the Indian herbal company whose label reads Since 1930. This bottle holds 100 tablets under a green screw cap, and the pack describes it as an Ayurvedic proprietary medicine made by Himalaya Wellness Company in India.
The formula is built on a Chyavanaprash concentrate, the thick Ayurvedic preparation traditionally made around amla, joined by a long list of herbs as extracts and powders. Among those printed on the label are Ashvagandha, Shatavari, Yashtimadhu, Mandukaparni, Haritaki, Kapikachchhu and Pippali, with spices such as saffron, clove, cardamom, mace and turmeric.
The label also lists purified Shilajeet and several bhasmas, the calcined mineral preparations of Ayurveda (abhrak, jasad, mandur and loh). Other ingredients printed on the pack are methylparaben and propylparaben, with Ponceau-4R and titanium dioxide as colours.
The printed dosage is two tablets twice daily at first, followed by one tablet twice daily, or as directed by a doctor. The pack asks for storage in a dry place away from direct heat and sunlight, not in a refrigerator, and out of the reach of children.
