About this experience

This five-day private tour combines Sri Lanka's famous hill country train journey with guided time in Colombo and Nuwara Eliya, including a dedicated excursion into Horton Plains National Park. It is built around the classic Nanu Oya to Colombo rail route, with road transfers and sightseeing on either side.

Travellers see Colombo's Fort and Pettah districts, Nuwara Eliya's Gregory Lake, the montane grasslands and cloud forest of Horton Plains, and a working tea factory and plantation near the town. The itinerary leaves the final day free for shopping or rest before departure.

A chauffeur guide drives throughout and manages hotel transfers, with the train leg between Nanu Oya and Colombo fort worked into the schedule on day four.
