About this experience
Climb into a private tuk-tuk for a 4-hour countryside tour around the coastal town of Dickwella. Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel in Dickwella or Hiriketiya and takes you to the Hummanaya Blowhole — Sri Lanka's only blowhole — where the sea blasts through coastal rock in a column of spray. From there, stop at the Dickwella Fishing Harbour to watch fishermen at work, and tour the Wewurukannala Buddhist Temple, home to the country's largest seated Buddha statue.
The route continues to a clay pottery workshop, the calm shores of Dandeniya Lake, and the construction site of what will be South Asia's longest railway bridge. Since the tour is private, you set the pace. Lunch or dinner (depending on your time slot) and bottled water are included; entrance tickets and personal expenses are not. Minimum age ten. Hotel pickup and drop-off are arranged by Lakpura.
